Unit-12     HYDROCARBONS AND THEIR COMPOUNDS

 Ø  The chemical compounds which consists of hydrogen and carbon as essential elements are                 called hydrocarbons.

Ø  Examples:- Methane (CH₄) , Ethane (C₂H₆) , Ethene (C₂H₄) , Ethyne(C₂H₂) , etc.

Natural gas , Petrolium products and coal are the sources of hydrocarbons in nature.
