Ø The chemical compounds which consists of hydrogen and
carbon as essential elements are called hydrocarbons.
Ø Examples:- Methane (CH4) , Ethane (C2H6)
, Ethene (C2H4) , Ethyne(C2H2) ,
etc.
Natural gas , Petrolium products and coal are the
sources of hydrocarbons in nature.
